Sub-slab depressurization

A fan and sealed pipe that draw radon from under the slab and vent it outside, installed in about a day.

Sub-slab depressurization is the method Health Canada describes as the most effective for most homes. A hole is cored through the basement floor, a small pit is dug under it, and a sealed pipe runs to a fan that vents above the roofline or out the side of the house.

The fan keeps the air under the slab at lower pressure than the basement, so soil gas goes out the pipe instead of into the house. A manometer on the pipe shows at a glance that it is working.

The pipe route is agreed with you before we start, through a closet, the garage or up the outside wall, whichever is tidiest for your house.
